第一类
VERB
↓

↓
-ING
例如:
succeed in finding
insist on paying
think about buying
第二类
VERB
↓
SOMEBODY
↓
PREPOSITION
↓
-ING
例如:
accuse him of lying
prevent me from going
thank you for helping
50. 为什么后面一定是 -ing?
因为这些结构里:
about / for / of / on / in / from / to
都是:
介词
根据 Unit 60:
介词后面如果接动词 → -ing
所以:
insist on paying
succeed in finding
apologise for being
accuse somebody of lying
prevent somebody from leaving
51. Unit 62 最核心公式
Verb + preposition
verb + preposition + -ing
例如:
succeed in doing
insist on doing
think about doing
Verb + object + preposition
verb + somebody + preposition + -ing
例如:
accuse somebody of doing

所以:
doing
apologise
apologise to somebody for doing
不是:
❌ apologise somebody
52. 一句话记住 Unit 62
看到:
verb + preposition
如果后面还要接一个动作:
直接想到 -ing
所以:

而有人的结构:
accuse somebody of doing
prevent somebody from doing
stop somebody from doing
thank somebody for doing
