A. hear about / hear of / hear from
hear ABOUT ... = be told about something
表示：
hear about something 听说 / 得知某件事情
Example:
- Did you hear about the fire at the hotel?
hear OF ... = know that somebody/something exists
表示：
hear of somebody/something 听说过某人 / 某物，知道其存在
Example:
- A: Who is Tom Hart?
- B: I have no idea. I’ve never heard of him. (not
heard from him)
这里强调：
我从来没有听说过这个人。
hear FROM ... = be in contact with somebody
表示：
hear from somebody 收到某人的消息 / 与某人有联系
Example:
- A: Have you heard from Jane recently?
- B: Yes, she called me a few days ago.
hear about / hear of / hear from 对比

B. think about / think of
think ABOUT something
think about something = consider it, concentrate your mind on it
表示：
仔细考虑某事 思考某件事情
Example:
- I’ve thought about what you said and I’ve decided to take your advice.
Dialogue:
- A: Will you lend me the money?
- B: I’ll think about it. (not
think of it)
这里：
I’ll think about it.
= 我会考虑一下。
think OF something = produce an idea
表示：
think of something 想出 / 想到某个主意
Examples:
It was my idea. I thought of it first. (not
thought about it)I felt embarrassed. I couldn’t think of anything to say. (not
think about anything)
例如：
Can you think of a solution?
你能想出一个解决办法吗？
think OF ... = ask for or give an opinion
当询问或表达对某事物的看法 / 评价时，也使用：
think of ...
Example:
- A: What did you think of the movie?
- B: I didn’t think much of it. (= I didn’t like it much.)
这里：
What do you think of ...?
= 你觉得……怎么样？
I don't think much of ...
= 我觉得……不怎么样。
think about 和 think of 对比
think ABOUT
强调：
考虑、思考
例如：
I’m thinking about the problem.
我正在考虑这个问题。
think OF
强调：
想到 / 想出
例如：
I thought of a good idea.
我想到了一个好主意。
think OF
还可以表示：
对……的看法
例如：
What do you think of this idea?
你觉得这个想法怎么样？
有时候两者区别很小
Sometimes the difference is very small and you can use of or about:
- When I’m alone, I often think of you. or
- When I’m alone, I often think about you.
这里两个都可以表示：
我一个人的时候经常想起 / 想到你。
think of / think about + -ing
谈论未来可能采取的行动时，两种形式都可以：
think of doing something
或者：
think about doing something
Example:
- My sister is thinking of going to Canada. or
- My sister is thinking about going to Canada.
表示：
我妹妹正在考虑去加拿大。
结构：
think of + -ing
think about + -ing

dream ABOUT ... = when you are asleep
如果表示睡觉时做梦梦见……：
dream about somebody/something
Example:
- I dreamt about you last night.
我昨晚梦到你了。
dream OF / ABOUT being something / doing something = imagine
表示：
梦想…… 想象自己……
可以使用：
dream of + -ing
或者：
dream about + -ing
Example:
- Do you dream of being rich and famous?
or
- Do you dream about being rich and famous?
dream about 和 dream of 的简单区别
dream ABOUT somebody/something → 睡觉时梦到……
dream OF / ABOUT doing something → 梦想 / 想象做……
例如：
I dreamt about my old school last night.
昨晚我梦到了以前的学校。
而：
I dream of travelling around the world.
我梦想环游世界。
I wouldn’t dream OF doing something
这是一个非常重要的固定表达：
I wouldn’t dream of doing something = I would never do it
表示：
我绝不会做某事。 我想都不会想做这种事。
Example:
- ‘Don’t tell anyone what I said.’
- ‘No, I wouldn’t dream of it.’
意思是：
我绝不会告诉别人。
再例如：
I wouldn’t dream of lying to you.
我绝不会对你撒谎。
D. complain about / complain of
complain (TO somebody) ABOUT ...
complain to somebody about something
表示：
向某人抱怨某件事情 对某事表示不满
Example:
- We complained to the manager of the restaurant about the food.
完整结构：
complain TO somebody ABOUT something
可以理解为：
complain TO 谁 complain ABOUT 什么
例如：
I complained to my boss about the problem.
我向老板抱怨了这个问题。
complain OF a pain, an illness etc.
complain of something
可以用来表示：
诉说身体疼痛 / 病症
Example:
- We called the doctor because George was complaining of a pain in his stomach.
例如：
She complained of a headache.
她说自己头痛。
complain about 和 complain of 对比
complain ABOUT something → 抱怨 / 对某件事情不满意
complain OF a pain / illness → 诉说身体疼痛或症状
例如：
He complained about the service.
他抱怨服务不好。
而：
He complained of chest pain.
他说自己胸口疼。

remind somebody ABOUT ...
remind somebody about something = tell somebody not to forget
表示：
提醒某人别忘了某件事情
Example:
- It’s good you reminded me about the meeting. I’d completely forgotten about it.
结构：
remind + somebody + about + something
例如：
Please remind me about the meeting tomorrow.
请提醒我明天的会议。
remind somebody OF ...
remind somebody of something/somebody = cause somebody to remember
表示：
使某人想起……
Examples:
This house reminds me of the one I lived in when I was a child.
Look at this photograph of Richard. Who does he remind you of?
结构：
A reminds somebody of B
表示：
A 让某人想起 B。
例如：
This song reminds me of my childhood.
